The inaugural Staff Recognition and Awards Ceremony hosted by 138 Student Living took place on Friday, December 16 at the company’s multipurpose building. The company 138 Student Living operates 1,464 rooms across nine, six-storey tower complexes on The UWI, Mona campus. Thirty-two employees, who have served the company for five years and over, were presented with awards for their loyal service. Seventeen of those persons were from the security department, with the others representing operations, finance, customer service and housekeeping.
“We felt it was important to engage employees in this way, especially coming out of the pandemic, so as to give them a fun way to celebrate the country returning to a near- normal lifestyle as well as for them to get to know each other outside of work at the after party,” said Cranston Ewan, chief executive officer of 138 Student Living.
He said the awards segment was a kick-start to the company’s plans to select employees of the quarter and the year, beginning 2023. “The boss tun up the ting this year!” was an informal expression of appreciation coming from an employee. The Business Social brings you highlights of the event.
