Company Overview
138 Student Living Jamaica Limited (138SL) is a Jamaican company, listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE), that provides world-class accommodations at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona campus. Established on July 30, 2015, by way of a public, private partnership agreement with the UWI; a concession agreement was signed between 138SL and UWI in July 2014, to finance, build and operate student housing and short-term accommodations. The partnership with 138SL and UWI is a means to expand living opportunities for students pursuing tertiary education in Jamaica and to develop the facilities at UWI to allow for investment opportunities for all stakeholders. 138SL has the mandate, through the Concession Agreement with the University of the West Indies, to construct and operate 2,300 rooms.
The facility is currently being managed by CEO – Mr. Cranston Ewan and an energetic management team and staff complement of one hundred and twelve members of staff. Our goal is to provide a holistic living experience for young adults attending the university. Additionally, Student Services and Development Managers (SSDM) are appointed by the UWI; to provide management support focused on enhancing the experience and growth of residents, through social and cultural initiatives.

Our Mission is to provide our guests with the best possible living communities, offering safe, comfortable, and affordable living spaces. This is incorporated with our vision to be the Caribbean’s premier accommodations provider in the University Housing Segment.
We currently offer short-term facilities to groups and individuals visiting the University as well as long-term living accommodations for students. Bookings for our facilities can be done on our online platform or by way of direct visit to our customer service areas. We do not just offer our clients living accommodation but we offer them world-class experience.
